WINE TASTING CAVE
Industrial Design / CAD / Fabrication Documentation
A bespoke winery tasting experience incorporating custom steelwork, acoustic panels, wine displays and architectural elements.
I developed the fabrication models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs and procurement information for the project, working with the architect, engineer and builder to resolve fabrication and installation details
OVERVIEW
Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings and procurement schedules for the following components;

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
PRIORITIES
Clean finish
Ease of assembly
Discussion with builder and engineer on-site.
'How do we attach the perforated steel over the acoustic panels?'
The perforated steel needed to sit cleanly over the acoustic panels while remaining removable and practical to manufacture.
I developed and tested a simple hook-and-return detail that allowed the perforated panels to locate over the acoustic structure while maintaining a clean external finish.
ASSEMBLY METHOD

Solution: Weld a hook shaped plate to the perforated steel return. This will both guide and secure the steel into the correct position against the SHS structure.

Each component needed a slightly different assembly system

PROTOTYPING & FABRICATION

A physical sample was produced to test the bending, fit and interface between the perforated steel and supporting structure before committing to production.
